Getting around La Crosse
La Crosse sits where the Black and La Crosse rivers run into the Mississippi, with Grandad Bluff rising about 500 feet over downtown. I-90 crosses the river here, and US 53 heads north to Onalaska. La Crosse Regional Airport (LSE) is out on French Island at 2850 Airport Road, roughly 6 miles northwest of downtown. Downtown, the La Crosse Center at 300 Harborview Plaza backs onto Riverside Park.
Nearly 20,000 students at UW-La Crosse, Viterbo and Western Technical set the calendar, with commencements in May and December, and Oktoberfest USA has been running here since 1961. Winter matters too: about 46 inches of snow a year, and during the March 15 to 16, 2026 blizzard the Wisconsin State Patrol logged 92 crashes in 24 hours.
La Crosse airport shuttle, and the airport shuttle from La Crosse to Minneapolis (MSP)
LSE is a small terminal with Chicago flights and seasonal Allegiant service to Arizona and Florida. Vehicles can't sit unattended at its loading curb, so the chauffeur parks and comes inside to meet you near baggage claim. Many trips start at Minneapolis-St. Paul instead, about 141 miles and a little under 3 hours on clear roads; transportation from Minneapolis to La Crosse or back is priced as one fare per trip. Rochester (RST) is 75 miles, Madison (MSN) 138 and Chicago O'Hare about 270.
Weddings, commencements and executive travel in La Crosse
Weddings on the river. A luxury limo or SUV for the couple can run alongside a Sprinter for the attendants, linking a downtown church, photos on Grandad Bluff and a riverfront reception.
Commencement weekends. Viterbo graduates on Saturday, December 19, 2026, at its Fine Arts Center on Viterbo Drive, and UW-La Crosse holds its ceremony at the La Crosse Center the next morning. A Sprinter takes the family from the hotel to the doors and on to dinner.
Executive travel. Sedans and SUVs for visitors to Gundersen Health System, Mayo Clinic Health System, Kwik Trip's headquarters and the Trane plant, from LSE or straight down from MSP.
Oktoberfest and the river road. Oktoberfest USA returns September 30 to October 2, 2027 (parade dates). For a slower day, Elmaro Vineyard near Trempealeau is about 35 minutes upriver.

My wife and I worked with Igor and Limo SF VIP for our wedding. They did an absolutely amazing job. They provided both a luxury sprinter van to carry the bridal party and groomsmen to a first look sight at the busy palace of fine arts and then to the venue and provided luxury ~50-person bus for guests to leave venue. All of the drivers were responsive, and kind. At the end of the night the bus driver even spent an extra ~30 minutes driving the late-night party crew to several different bars after some we intended to go were closed. Overall, 6/5 service. Their prices are fair, and the team is wonderful to work with. I'd highly recommend Limo SF VIP to anyone looking for coach, private limo, or large party needs.Posted on Google![]()

Excellent service! As I was boarding my flight on my way to SFO I was able to book and confirm the service last minute, so quickly. Our driver waited for us by baggage claim and helped us out with our numerous bags. The car was also fabulous! Arriving to SF in style!Posted on Google![]()

La Crosse limo and airport shuttle questions
Your quote names the meeting spot, and the car is parked there rather than left at the curb. LSE says passenger loading happens right outside the terminal entrance but vehicles may not be left unattended there; offenders are ticketed and towed. The free cell phone lot on Airport Road is meant for people waiting on a call, not for a booked pickup. The airport sits on French Island at 2850 Airport Road, about 6 miles from downtown, and LSE pickups carry 40 free minutes of waiting once the airline’s official posted arrival time passes.
Count on close to 3 hours each way. MSP is about 141 road miles from La Crosse, roughly 2 hours 48 minutes when the roads are clear, so set the pickup with that drive plus your check-in and security time in mind. The alternatives are slower: Jefferson Lines runs one bus a day at around 4 hours, and Amtrak’s Borealis and Empire Builder stop at St. Paul Union Depot rather than at the airport. We price the run as one fare.
When the airline and schedule suit you, Rochester saves the most road time. RST is 74.5 miles from La Crosse, about 1 hour 20 minutes, against nearly 3 hours to MSP and about 2 hours 20 to Madison's Dane County airport at 138 miles. LSE itself has Chicago flights plus seasonal Allegiant routes to Phoenix, Orlando and Punta Gorda. MSP has far more nonstop routes than either. Tell us which airport you are weighing and we will quote each transfer, so you can set the ground cost next to the airfare.
As close to the entrance at 300 Harborview Plaza as traffic allows, then the chauffeur waits nearby. The La Crosse Center seats roughly 5,000 to 7,500 depending on the setup and sits a few hundred feet from the Mississippi beside Riverside Park; the Bi-State Classic wrestling tournament is one of its big annual draws. City ramps sit close by, so the vehicle can park there and come back to your door when you text. Booking by the hour keeps the car on call.
Yes, as an hourly charter with fixed drop and pickup corners. Oktoberfest USA was first held in 1961 and can draw up to 150,000 people; the Southside Festgrounds are at 2nd and La Crosse Streets. The 2027 Torchlight Parade is listed for Thursday, September 30, at 7 p.m., and the Maple Leaf Parade for Saturday, October 2, at 10 a.m. We pick corners away from the parade route and write them on your quote, so the group knows exactly where to walk.
Viterbo graduates on Saturday, December 19, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre at 900 Viterbo Drive, after a 9 a.m. Baccalaureate Mass. UW-La Crosse follows on Sunday, December 20, at 11 a.m. at the La Crosse Center, with no tickets needed and doors opening 90 minutes early. Spring 2027 falls on May 15 for Viterbo and May 16 for UWL. A sedan or Sprinter can drop the family at the entrance and come back for them after the last name is read.
Yes. Gundersen Health System alone employs nearly 9,000 people in the region, and Kwik Trip, Mayo Clinic Health System and Trane are among La Crosse County's other big employers. A sedan or SUV can collect them at LSE, take them to Gundersen's La Crosse campus, Kwik Trip's headquarters or the Trane plant, and bring them back for the evening flight. For guests landing at MSP, the same car makes the 141-mile trip down so nobody has to rent and drive.
The vehicle, the hours and the date decide most of it. Each vehicle carries its own hourly minimum, from three hours for a sedan up to six for a motorcoach, and Saturdays and wedding season run highest; for Oktoberfest and the commencement weekends, book early. Long runs to MSP, Rochester or O’Hare are priced by the trip. Gratuity is fixed at 20 percent, worked out on the base fare plus any stop, wait or holiday charges, and listed separately on your invoice. The written figure usually arrives within 15 to 30 minutes of asking.
An Intrastate Passenger Carrier certificate from WisDOT, numbered with a PC prefix, plus proof of liability insurance on file with the state. WisDOT Motor Carrier Services issues that authority for for-hire passenger work inside Wisconsin; taxis and small car pools are exempt. The insurer files a Form E, and the state minimum is $300,000 for vehicles of 10,000 pounds or less, $500,000 for heavier ones seating 15 or fewer, and $1,000,000 for 16 seats or more. If you want a carrier’s PC certificate checked, ask WisDOT Motor Carrier Services.
We phone you ahead of it and suggest either leaving earlier or shifting the ride to a safer window. During the March 15 to 16, 2026 blizzard, the Wisconsin State Patrol logged 92 crashes in 24 hours, and southern Minnesota was under a no-travel advisory. On the day itself, the chauffeur has the final word on whether a stretch of I-90 can be driven safely. What applies to weather changes and cancellations is spelled out in writing on your quote, so you know the rules before anything is booked.
Weeks ahead, not days, for the big three: Oktoberfest and the two commencement weekends, with the Fourth of July worth planning for too. Oktoberfest USA falls in late September or early October; the 2027 parades are set for September 30 and October 2. Viterbo and UWL graduate on back-to-back days, December 19 and 20, 2026, then again on May 15 and 16, 2027, so two sets of families need cars at once. Riverfest is held at Riverside Park around the Fourth. For any of them, reserve once the date and head count are settled.
Yes. Perrot State Park sits among 500-foot bluffs where the Trempealeau and Mississippi rivers meet, with hiking trails up to river views, a nature center, picnic shelters and seasonal canoe rentals on Trempealeau Bay. It’s open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. all year, and a vehicle admission sticker is required. A Sprinter seats up to 14, so a birthday or family group rides together, and booking it by the hour lets the chauffeur wait while you hike.
