Getting around Huntsville

Almost everything here hangs off I-565, the 22-mile spur from I-65 near Decatur. Exit 8 is the airport, Exit 14 is Research Park Boulevard and the road to Redstone's Gate 9, and Exit 19C is downtown, where the Von Braun Center sits at 700 Monroe Street. The U.S. Space & Rocket Center sits at One Tranquility Base, with the Botanical Garden nearby on Bob Wallace Avenue, and the Orion Amphitheater holds 8,000 in the MidCity District.

One caveat for 2026 and 2027: ALDOT is widening I-565 between Exit 7 and Exit 9, right around the airport exit, and the lane closures run at night, which is exactly when a 6 am departure is on the road. If you're flying out early from HSV, the pickup time on your quote already builds in those overnight closures.

Huntsville airport limo and shuttle service from HSV and Nashville

HSV is about 14 road miles and 15 minutes from downtown, and its ground-transportation page names no limousine curb, so the chauffeur parks and meets you inside at baggage claim on the first level. Nashville International is 114 miles away, around two hours, and its limo pickup is the Ground Transportation Center on Level 1 of Terminal Garage 2. Birmingham (93 miles) and Atlanta (184 miles) are quoted per trip; hourly work is charter-priced.

Executive travel, weddings and nights out in Huntsville

Executive travel. Redstone holds 36,000 to 40,000 government and contractor staff on a typical day, including NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, and Cummings Research Park adds 300 companies on 3,843 acres. A sedan or SUV can hold the whole day hourly, from HSV to the park and back.

Weddings. Burritt on the Mountain at 3101 Burritt Drive SE holds ceremonies on top of Monte Sano, and the Botanical Garden at 4747 Bob Wallace Avenue is another wedding venue in town. A sedan for the couple and a Sprinter for the wedding party can sit on one quote.

Graduation and race weekends. UAH graduates at the Von Braun Center on Monday, December 14, 2026, the day after the Rocket City Marathon weekend wraps up at the same building.

Concerts and ball games. An hourly charter to the Orion, or to Toyota Field in Madison for the Trash Pandas, with one pickup point agreed before the show.

My wife and I worked with Igor and Limo SF VIP for our wedding. They did an absolutely amazing job. They provided both a luxury sprinter van to carry the bridal party and groomsmen to a first look sight at the busy palace of fine arts and then to the venue and provided luxury ~50-person bus for guests to leave venue. All of the drivers were responsive, and kind. At the end of the night the bus driver even spent an extra ~30 minutes driving the late-night party crew to several different bars after some we intended to go were closed. Overall, 6/5 service. Their prices are fair, and the team is wonderful to work with. I'd highly recommend Limo SF VIP to anyone looking for coach, private limo, or large party needs.

Excellent service! As I was boarding my flight on my way to SFO I was able to book and confirm the service last minute, so quickly. Our driver waited for us by baggage claim and helped us out with our numerous bags. The car was also fabulous! Arriving to SF in style!

Huntsville limo and executive travel questions

On your quote you’ll find the meeting point, and the chauffeur parks there instead of circling. The airport’s ground-transportation page lists rental cars, rideshare, taxis and hotel shuttles but sets no pickup lane for prearranged cars, so the car stays wherever HSV’s rules let it stand. Put your flight number on the booking and a delayed Delta connection through Atlanta just moves the meeting time. From HSV it’s roughly 14 road miles and 15 minutes along I-565 to downtown, or a shorter hop east to Research Park Boulevard.

Often, yes, if the saving per traveler beats the cost of one vehicle for 114 miles. Nashville International is about two hours north of Huntsville, and its prearranged cars load at the Ground Transportation Center on Level 1 of Terminal Garage 2, so a Nashville arrival is as easy to meet as a local one. Birmingham is 93 miles south and Atlanta about 184 miles east. We price each of those runs as one fixed trip, so a family of five can set it against five HSV tickets before deciding.

Not automatically: entry onto Redstone is the Army's decision, and your host sorts it out. First-time visitors register at the Visitor Control Center on the approach to Gate 9, open 7 am to 3 pm on weekdays and shut on federal holidays, with a REAL ID licence and a background check. Gate 9 on Rideout Road runs around the clock; most other gates keep short hours. We can drop you at the Visitor Control Center, and if your host sponsors the car or meets you at the gate, that plan goes on the quote.

Yes, book it hourly and the same sedan or SUV follows the agenda. Cummings Research Park covers 3,843 acres and about 300 companies, the second-largest research park in the country, and its campuses are spread too far apart to walk. A typical day might start at HSV, run up I-565 to Exit 14, visit two contractors and Blue Origin's engine plant, and finish at a downtown hotel. Give us the addresses in order and the hours needed; the quote shows the total before anyone commits.

Agree one pickup spot with the chauffeur before the encore, then walk to it. The Orion holds 8,000 at 701 Amphitheater Drive NW in the MidCity District, and that many people leaving together means a lot of cars. An hourly charter keeps the vehicle waiting nearby rather than hunting through traffic, and a Sprinter handles up to 14 friends heading back to Madison or the downtown hotels. If you'd rather beat the crowd, tell the chauffeur and leave a song early.

Arrive when the doors open, ninety minutes before your ceremony. UAH holds fall 2026 graduation on Monday, December 14, at the Von Braun Center's Propst Arena, with ceremonies at 10 am and 2 pm and no guest tickets needed. Every guest is screened at the door, and the arena runs a clear-bag policy. Spring 2027 falls on Monday, May 10. Families landing at HSV on the Sunday can reserve the airport run and the ceremony drop-off as one booking, then add a dinner ride afterward.

A sedan or SUV for the couple plus a Sprinter for the wedding party is a simple pairing. Burritt sits at 3101 Burritt Drive SE on top of Monte Sano, with the Gazebo and The View for ceremonies and Baron Bluff for receptions. The reception might be down at the Botanical Garden on Bob Wallace Avenue or at a downtown hotel, so allow for the drive off the mountain. Send the ceremony time, photo stops and reception address, and we'll size the vehicles and the hours together on one written quote.

Yes. Five things move it: which vehicle, how many hours, that vehicle’s minimum, the date, and the miles on a transfer. A Tuesday sedan from HSV to an office off Research Park Boulevard is a short point-to-point job, while a June Saturday with a Sprinter waiting through a Burritt reception is billed by the hour against the Sprinter’s minimum. Gratuity isn’t left to you on the day: it’s fixed at 20% and printed as its own line. Send the details and the written number usually arrives in 15 to 30 minutes.

More than a business license. A Huntsville limousine operator needs a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity granted by the City Council, at least one of its limousines must pass a City Department of Transportation inspection, with proof of insurance for each vehicle, and every driver has to be approved by the Huntsville Police Department. At state level, the Alabama Public Service Commission requires intrastate passenger carriers to hold operating authority. A local partner runs your ride, and the City or the PSC can confirm a carrier’s license.

We phone you before the chauffeur sets out. In December 2022 the city shut Sparkman Drive, Cecil Ashburn Drive and Memorial Parkway at Mt. Charron for black ice, and the raised sections of I-565, the Parkway and Research Park Boulevard ran one lane each way. When ice is in the forecast we offer an earlier slot or a later day, and the chauffeur judges the bridges and overpasses on the morning itself. Read the terms block on your written quote: it covers bad-weather changes and cancellations for that booking.

Yes, because two big events share one building that week: the Rocket City Marathon weekend runs December 11 to 13 at the Von Braun Center, and UAH graduates there on Monday the 14th. In 2027, watch UAH’s May 10 commencement and the spring and fall wedding Saturdays at Burritt and the Botanical Garden. With a race weekend and two graduation ceremonies on consecutive days downtown, lock in the vehicle once you know the date, especially if you need a 14-seat Sprinter.

Yes, and a Sprinter suits the trip. Scottsboro is 41 road miles east, about 45 minutes away, and the Unclaimed Baggage Center fills a 50,000-square-foot store with goods from lost airline luggage, plus a small museum of the odder finds. More than a million people visit each year. A Sprinter seats up to 14 with room for the bags you carry home, and booking by the hour leaves time for lunch in town; check the store's hours before picking a Sunday.
