Getting around Bowling Green

Bowling Green is a Warren County city of about 72,000, strung along I-65 roughly 22 miles north of the Tennessee line. Most of what visitors come for sits near an exit. Exit 28 serves the National Corvette Museum at 350 Corvette Drive, with GM's Corvette assembly plant just down the road at number 600. Exit 22 is Scottsville Road, and exit 20 is where I-165, the old Natcher Parkway, heads 70 miles northwest to Owensboro.

Western Kentucky University, home to about 16,700 students, sits on The Hill overlooking the Barren River valley, a short drive from downtown's Fountain Square. SKyPAC, the performing arts center, is at 601 College Street. Beech Bend Park at 798 Beech Bend Park Road runs a dragstrip and a water park from May through September.

Airport transportation from Bowling Green: limo and shuttle runs to BNA and SDF

The city's own field, Bowling Green-Warren County Regional (BWG), lost its last airline route in 2017, so nearly every flight means a drive. Nashville International (BNA) is 69 miles and about an hour and a quarter south. Louisville (SDF) is 112 miles north, close to two hours, and it runs on Eastern time, an hour ahead of Bowling Green. For an airport limo service the chauffeur parks and meets you inside the terminal, and each transfer is priced as one fare per direction. Private flyers landing at BWG are met there too.

My wife and I worked with Igor and Limo SF VIP for our wedding. They did an absolutely amazing job. They provided both a luxury sprinter van to carry the bridal party and groomsmen to a first look sight at the busy palace of fine arts and then to the venue and provided luxury ~50-person bus for guests to leave venue. All of the drivers were responsive, and kind. At the end of the night the bus driver even spent an extra ~30 minutes driving the late-night party crew to several different bars after some we intended to go were closed. Overall, 6/5 service. Their prices are fair, and the team is wonderful to work with. I'd highly recommend Limo SF VIP to anyone looking for coach, private limo, or large party needs.

Excellent service! As I was boarding my flight on my way to SFO I was able to book and confirm the service last minute, so quickly. Our driver waited for us by baggage claim and helped us out with our numerous bags. The car was also fabulous! Arriving to SF in style!

Bowling Green limo and car service questions

Where BNA’s rules put a booked car, with that spot sent to you ahead of your flight. Per Wikipedia, BNA’s taxis and rideshare use the Ground Transportation Center in Terminal Garage 2, Level 1. Include the airline and flight number with your booking. The clock on 40 free minutes of waiting starts at the official posted arrival time, and the 69 miles up I-65 to Bowling Green take about an hour and a quarter.

We work backward from the Eastern departure time and print the pickup in Central time, so nobody leaves an hour late. Bowling Green is on Central time and Louisville Muhammad Ali International sits an hour ahead, 112 miles up I-65, close to two hours of driving. A 9 a.m. Eastern departure is 8 a.m. on a Bowling Green clock, which puts the car at your door around 5 a.m. Tell us how early you like to reach the gate and we adjust from there.

Yes. BWG sits about 2 miles southeast of the city and has had no scheduled airline since its Atlanta flights ended in January 2017, so a car meeting a plane there is meeting a private or charter flight on its 6,501-foot main runway. Send the tail number, the handler or FBO you're using and your arrival time. The chauffeur waits at the door you name, and a sedan or SUV has you downtown or at a Corvette Drive meeting within minutes.

Yes, and it keeps the group together off I-65. The museum is at 350 Corvette Drive at Exit 28, with GM's Bowling Green Assembly Plant, open since 1981 and building the Corvette, a short way along at 600 Corvette Drive. A Sprinter seats up to 14; a mini coach seats 27 to 36. Booked by the hour, the vehicle waits while you see the Skydome, where a sinkhole swallowed eight cars in February 2014, then takes everyone to lunch.

Plan it as an hourly charter that starts at the getting-ready address and ends after the send-off. Lost River Cave is at 2818 Nashville Road and hosts wedding ceremonies and rents out its River Birch Room. A stretch limousine or SUV carries the couple and a Sprinter takes up to 14 in the wedding party. Put the photo stops on the request, such as Fountain Square downtown, and the timing is built around them.

Fall recognition ceremonies are Friday, December 11, 2026, in E.A. Diddle Arena at 1526 Avenue of Champions, and Spring Commencement is Thursday, May 6, 2027. Diddle seats about 7,300, while Houchens-Smith Stadium, which has hosted WKU graduations before, holds over 22,000, so either way the campus is crowded that day. For families flying in through Nashville (BNA), 69 miles south, a Sprinter can collect a whole family there, stop at the hotel and still reach The Hill with time to find seats.

Yes. GM's assembly plant at 600 Corvette Drive is reached from I-65 Exit 28, and the Kentucky Transpark got its own interchange, Exit 30, in July 2017, so the two are minutes apart. Holley Performance, Fruit of the Loom and Houchens Industries are other large local employers. A black car service sedan or SUV can run BNA to your hotel to the meeting, and an executive Sprinter fits a visiting team. Plant security sets the rules for any car going past the gate.

The vehicle you pick, the clock and the mileage. A sedan from a Scottsville Road hotel to Corvette Drive covers a few miles, the 112 miles to SDF are priced on distance, and a Sprinter kept on The Hill through a graduation afternoon is billed by the hour. Hourly bookings also carry a minimum that varies by vehicle, and Saturdays carry the top rates, as do prom and wedding dates. The tip is on top: 20 percent, worked out from base fare, stops, waiting and holiday charges, shown separately.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Its Motor Carriers office in Frankfort issues the intrastate limousine certificate, and a vehicle run under one may have no more than 15 regular seats. Before the certificate is granted, the insurer files a Form E liability certificate, the vehicles pass an inspection by an automotive technician and nationwide criminal background checks are completed. Our Bowling Green rides use partner operators, and that Motor Carriers office is the place to confirm a carrier’s certificate.

If ice is forecast, we call you before the pickup and suggest leaving earlier or moving the ride to another hour. Bowling Green averages only about 8 inches of snow a year, but roughly 11 days each winter stay below freezing, and a glaze on I-65 south toward the Tennessee line slows everyone. Once the car is moving, the chauffeur picks the route and has the final say on whether a stretch is safe to drive. What happens to your fare if the weather forces a change is spelled out in the quote you accept.

WKU's graduation days lead the list: December 11, 2026, and May 6, 2027. SKyPAC has a busy October, with Tommy James and The Shondells on October 10 and Orchestra Kentucky on October 17, 2026. Beech Bend's dragstrip and Splash Lagoon season returns in May 2027, and spring Saturdays add proms and weddings. You can still book on short notice, but asking for a quote a few weeks ahead gives you the widest pick of Sprinters and stretch limousines.

Yes, if you start early. Mammoth Cave National Park is about an hour from Bowling Green by road, and Lost River Cave on Nashville Road runs the only underground boat tour in Kentucky. Book a Sprinter for up to 14 by the hour: drive up for a morning cave tour, eat lunch on the way back, and finish with the boat ride in the afternoon. Reserve tour times with both sites yourself and send them over, so the pickup and the gap between stops fit.
