Getting around Idaho Falls

Idaho Falls sits on the Snake River along I-15, with the Greenbelt and the falls right downtown. Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA) at 2140 North Skyline Drive is only about 2 miles from the center, and it handled more than 610,000 boardings in 2024. The Mountain America Center at 1690 Event Center Drive is the arena for concerts and Spud Kings hockey, Rexburg and BYU-Idaho are 28 miles north, and West Yellowstone is 108 miles up US-20.

Two things shape an Idaho Falls booking. The first is distance: Salt Lake City's airport is 216 miles and Jackson just over 90, so many rides here are long transfers. The second is the season: Yellowstone's West Entrance road is open from mid-April to the end of October, and Teton Pass has winter trailer bans and avalanche closures, which changes both the route and the timing.

Airport shuttle and private car service from Idaho Falls

At IDA the curb is for active loading only and there is no cell-phone lot, so the chauffeur uses the free first hour in the lots and meets you at baggage claim. For Salt Lake City (about 3 hours 11), Pocatello (51 minutes) and Boise (around four hours), we quote a single trip in a sedan, SUV or Sprinter.

Executive, event and family travel in Idaho Falls

Executive transportation. Sedans and SUVs between IDA, the hotels, Melaleuca's headquarters on West 65th South, INL's Idaho Falls offices and EIRMC on Channing Way, with the return leg booked at the same time.

Mountain America Center nights. An hourly charter covers the drop-off, the wait and the ride home, which matters when the arena asks sold-out crowds not to drive.

BYU-Idaho weekends. Commencements (including April and December) and move-in weeks in Rexburg, often paired with an IDA transfer.

Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. A Sprinter for a park day in season, or a sedan or SUV over to Jackson with the route chosen for the month.

My wife and I worked with Igor and Limo SF VIP for our wedding. They did an absolutely amazing job. They provided both a luxury sprinter van to carry the bridal party and groomsmen to a first look sight at the busy palace of fine arts and then to the venue and provided luxury ~50-person bus for guests to leave venue. All of the drivers were responsive, and kind. At the end of the night the bus driver even spent an extra ~30 minutes driving the late-night party crew to several different bars after some we intended to go were closed. Overall, 6/5 service. Their prices are fair, and the team is wonderful to work with. I'd highly recommend Limo SF VIP to anyone looking for coach, private limo, or large party needs.

Excellent service! As I was boarding my flight on my way to SFO I was able to book and confirm the service last minute, so quickly. Our driver waited for us by baggage claim and helped us out with our numerous bags. The car was also fabulous! Arriving to SF in style!

Idaho Falls limo and car service questions

In one of the airport lots, and your quote tells you where to walk. The curb at IDA is for active loading only (no stopping to wait), and the airport has no cell-phone lot yet, so the chauffeur leaves the vehicle in one of the lots, where the first hour costs nothing, and waits there for you. The terminal is at 2140 North Skyline Drive, two miles from downtown Idaho Falls. Give us your flight number and the pickup moves with your actual landing time.

About 108 miles up US-20, roughly 1 hour 45 minutes. The West Entrance road into Yellowstone opens to cars in mid-April and closes at the end of October; in 2026 it opened on April 17 and closes on October 31. Outside those dates a Yellowstone day trip from Idaho Falls isn't possible by road, so for spring and fall bookings we check the park's opening schedule before quoting.

Yes, with the route chosen for the season. Jackson is just over 90 miles, under two hours in summer. From November 15 to April 1 Teton Pass bans all trailers, and chain requirements and avalanche closures are common, so in winter the chauffeur may take the Alpine route through the Snake River Canyon instead. Your quote will say which way is planned, and that can change on the day if the pass closes.

For a group or an early flight, often yes. Salt Lake City International is about 216 miles and 3 hours 11 minutes down I-15. A scheduled shuttle runs that route several times a day if you're alone and flexible; a private sedan, SUV or Sprinter leaves when you want and goes door to door, and it's quoted as a single trip. Pocatello's airport is 57 miles, about 51 minutes; Boise is roughly 260 to 280 miles, around four hours.

Yes. The center at 1690 Event Center Drive seats up to 6,000 in Hero Arena, parking is first come, there's no parking on Pioneer Road, and management asks sold-out crowds to use rideshare, which is why an hourly charter works well here. The chauffeur drops you at the entrance, waits through the show or game, and has the vehicle ready when it lets out.

Commencement dates include April and December (December 17 in 2026); Winter 2027 housing move-in is January 4 and Spring 2027 move-in is April 15. Idaho Falls Regional is the practical airport: Rexburg is 28 miles north, about 29 minutes on US-20. Book the IDA transfer and the Rexburg runs together so one quote covers the whole weekend.

Yes, for the in-town offices and hotels. INL’s main offices are in Idaho Falls, while the desert site is about 50 miles west with its own controlled access, so a visitor’s chauffeured rides are usually airport to hotel, hotel to the Idaho Falls campus, and back. Booking the return together with the arrival puts the departure on the calendar from the start.

The start of Yellowstone season in late April, when tour groups arrive; BYU-Idaho’s commencement and move-in weeks in Rexburg; sold-out nights at the Mountain America Center; and the second half of April for prom, when Skyline High held its 2026 dance on April 24. On those dates a Sprinter or stretch limousine should be reserved as soon as the date is firm.

Idaho’s rule for for-hire passenger carriers (IDAPA 39.02.80) sets a minimum of $1.5 million in liability coverage for vehicles with up to 24 seats and $5 million for 25 or more, and operators carrying more than eight passengers need an intrastate USDOT number. Rides we arrange in Idaho Falls are run by local partner operators. Any USDOT number can be looked up on the FMCSA’s free SAFER company snapshot.

Yes, during the season. A 14-passenger Sprinter is the usual choice: it's about 1 hour 45 each way to West Yellowstone, so plan on a full-day hourly charter if you want real time inside the park. Tell us your date and how many are riding, and we'll check the West Entrance schedule and put the pickup time on the quote.

Eastern Idaho’s highways do shut: a dust storm closed I-15 in March 2026, and the mountain passes close for snow and avalanche control in winter. When the highway reports or the forecast look bad we’ll suggest an earlier pickup or a new time, and the cancellation and weather terms that apply are on your written quote.

Yes. Melaleuca's headquarters is at 4609 West 65th South, and EIRMC at 3100 Channing Way is the region's Level II trauma center and Idaho's only burn center, so both bring visitors who need a dependable car from Idaho Falls Regional or a hotel. A sedan or SUV is quoted as a single trip; for a day of appointments, an hourly charter keeps the same chauffeur with you.
