Getting around Bloomington
Bloomington and its twin town, Normal, sit where I-55, I-74 and I-39 meet, roughly halfway between Chicago and St. Louis. Downtown has Grossinger Motors Arena at 101 South Madison Street, home ice of the Bloomington Bison, and the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts at 600 North East Street. Uptown Normal holds Uptown Station at 11 Uptown Circle, one of the busiest Amtrak stops in Illinois, and Illinois State University's CEFCU Arena is at 702 West College Avenue.
Two things will shape trips here through 2027 and into 2028. IDOT has one-lane work zones on several stretches of Route 9 and periodic lane closures on I-55 southwest of town and on I-74 toward Le Roy. And State Farm, headquartered in Bloomington, plans to bring roughly 13,000 local employees together on its Corporate South campus by the end of 2027, so visitors' destinations are shifting.
Airport transfers and executive car service from Bloomington
Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI) is a few miles east of downtown, about 10 minutes away, with American Eagle, Delta Connection and Allegiant flights. BMI publishes no limousine pickup rules, so the chauffeur parks and meets you inside the terminal. Peoria (PIA) is 43 miles out, Midway 125 miles (about 2 hours 15), O'Hare 135 (about 2 hours 25) and St. Louis Lambert 171. Those longer runs carry a per-trip price; hourly charters have a vehicle minimum.

My wife and I worked with Igor and Limo SF VIP for our wedding. They did an absolutely amazing job. They provided both a luxury sprinter van to carry the bridal party and groomsmen to a first look sight at the busy palace of fine arts and then to the venue and provided luxury ~50-person bus for guests to leave venue. All of the drivers were responsive, and kind. At the end of the night the bus driver even spent an extra ~30 minutes driving the late-night party crew to several different bars after some we intended to go were closed. Overall, 6/5 service. Their prices are fair, and the team is wonderful to work with. I'd highly recommend Limo SF VIP to anyone looking for coach, private limo, or large party needs.Posted on Google![]()

Excellent service! As I was boarding my flight on my way to SFO I was able to book and confirm the service last minute, so quickly. Our driver waited for us by baggage claim and helped us out with our numerous bags. The car was also fabulous! Arriving to SF in style!Posted on Google![]()

Bloomington-Normal limo and car service questions
Inside the terminal. BMI's ground transportation page covers rental cars, Uber and Lyft, and admits that taxi and rideshare options are limited, yet it describes no limousine zone or curbside rule at all. With nothing published, your chauffeur leaves the car parked and walks into the BMI terminal to find you there, so you aren't left searching the curb for a car. When we have your airline and flight, a delay simply shifts the meet to the new landing time; BMI pickups come with 40 minutes of free waiting once the flight shows as landed.
Only when the fare or the routing makes the drive worth it. BMI's nonstops cover Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago O'Hare and a few Allegiant cities in Florida. Going farther means Midway at about 125 miles and 2 hours 13 minutes, O'Hare at 135 miles and 2 hours 24, or St. Louis Lambert at 171 miles and just under 3 hours, all in clear traffic. Peoria is the nearer option at 43 miles. Each of those runs is priced door to door as one transfer, so you can weigh the ticket saving against the hours spent on I-55.
An hourly charter that drops you at the door and comes back when the event lets out. The arena sits at 101 South Madison Street downtown, with a connected parking deck and more than 3,000 public spaces around it, so driving yourself is an option, but a charter means nobody has to hunt for the car afterward. Bison opening night is October 17, 2026, and Disney On Ice is scheduled for January 14, 2027. The chauffeur waits nearby during the event and returns to the entrance at the time you set, so your group leaves together.
Plan the meeting spot before the ceremony, because the university asks guests to do exactly that. ISU's winter ceremonies are on Saturday, December 12, 2026, at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., and spring ceremonies run May 7 and 8, 2027, all at CEFCU Arena, 702 West College Avenue in Normal. Graduates leave by the northeast ramp near the Turner Hall lot and Horton Field House. We agree a pickup point near there with you and print it on the quote. Illinois Wesleyan's 2027 commencement is Sunday, May 2, at 1 p.m.
It changes where many of them are going. State Farm announced in March 2026 that roughly 13,000 Bloomington associates will be consolidated at its Corporate South campus, with the moves expected to finish by the end of 2027; the company hasn't decided the future of the current headquarters building. For a visitor that mostly means checking which campus the meeting is on before you book. An executive sedan from BMI, about 10 minutes from downtown, or from the Amtrak station in Normal covers either site, and the return trip can sit on the same quote.
Yes. Tell us the hotels, the venue and the session times, and we build a timetable around them. Delegate counts decide the vehicle: up to 14 fit a Sprinter, 27 to 36 a mini coach. Uptown Station at 11 Uptown Circle handles Amtrak's Lincoln Service from Chicago and St. Louis, so the shuttle can also meet delegates coming in by rail. Teams visiting Rivian's plant in Normal, which began building the R2 in April 2026, can book the same kind of loop.
Mostly distance, vehicle size and waiting time. Midway is about 125 miles from Bloomington and O'Hare about 135, so the run itself is the largest part of the price, and an SUV or Sprinter costs more than a sedan. Collecting you at an airport includes a 40-minute grace period; beyond that, waiting is billed in quarter-hour blocks at the vehicle's hourly rate. A 20 percent gratuity applies to the fare plus any waiting or stop time and is shown on a separate line of the bill. We send the full price in writing, usually within 15 to 30 minutes.
Yes, with the Illinois Secretary of State. Under 625 ILCS 5/8-101, nobody may carry passengers for hire on streets in an Illinois city, town or village unless proof of financial responsibility is in force and on file with the Secretary of State. Trips we arrange around Bloomington-Normal are driven by local partner operators, and you can ask us for that operator's Illinois registration details and a copy of its insurance certificate before you pay.
It can, through 2027 and into 2028. IDOT has one-lane traffic on several Route 9 projects in Bloomington, a further Route 9 stretch scheduled from summer 2027 into winter 2028, and periodic lane closures on I-55 southwest of town and on I-74 toward Le Roy. College Avenue in Normal has periodic closures too. When we schedule your pickup we allow for the work zone on your route. If a closure changes on the day, we phone you with an earlier start or a new time, and the chauffeur judges whether a detour is safe.
Illinois Wesleyan's Family Weekend, November 6 to 8, 2026; Illinois State's winter commencement on Saturday, December 12, 2026; Disney On Ice at Grossinger Motors Arena, set for January 14, 2027; Illinois Wesleyan's graduation on Sunday, May 2, 2027; and ISU's five spring ceremonies on May 7 and 8, 2027. Each one brings families or crowds into town on a fixed day, often with several ceremonies back to back. For any of those dates, send your request as soon as tickets, hotel or ceremony times are settled, and we'll hold the vehicle on a written quote.
Yes. Par-A-Dice is about 37 miles west of Bloomington, roughly 42 minutes each way, which makes it an easy hourly charter for a birthday or an office outing. A Sprinter seats up to 14, and for a larger party a mini coach carries 27 to 36. Your driver lets everyone out by the casino doors and keeps the van close by until the departure time you picked. If you want to add dinner in Peoria or a stop on the way back, list those on the request so the hours are counted correctly.
No. All four of these halls are inside Bloomington-Normal. The Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts at 600 North East Street, the Cannery at 400 North Wallace Street and the Miller Park Pavilion on East Locust Street are in Bloomington. Ewing Manor, run by Illinois State University, has its own grounds in Normal, with free parking for about 200 cars across the street at St. John's Lutheran Church. A stretch limousine for the couple and a Sprinter carrying bridesmaids and groomsmen can link the church, a photo stop and any of these halls on one quote.
