Getting around Visalia

Visalia is the Tulare County seat, 141,384 people at the 2020 census, sitting where Highway 198 crosses Highway 99. College of the Sequoias is at 915 South Mooney Boulevard. Downtown stays compact: the Fox Theatre at 308 West Main Street opened in 1930 and seats 1,275, and the Visalia Convention Center has 114,000 square feet, stadium seating for 3,000 and a 370-space garage across the street. Tulare and the World Ag Expo grounds are 12 miles south.

The local caveat is tule fog. From November through March it can drop visibility on Highway 99 below 600 feet, and the stretch between Kingsburg and Fresno, the same road you take to the airport, has seen pileups of 80 cars and more. On fog mornings we ring you beforehand and offer an earlier start; if the chauffeur judges the road unsafe, that judgment stands, and your quote explains how weather delays and cancellations work.

Airport shuttle and chauffeured rides from Visalia to Fresno (FAT)

Visalia Municipal (VIS), five miles west of downtown, has had no airline service since SeaPort Airlines stopped flying on January 15, 2016. The nearest airline airport is Fresno Yosemite International at 5175 East Clinton Way, about 45 miles and 48 minutes up Highway 99. FAT publishes no limousine meeting point, so your chauffeur parks and meets you inside the terminal, and waiting is free for 40 minutes after the posted arrival. Bakersfield's Meadows Field (70 miles), LAX (188) and SFO (224) are each priced as one transfer; hourly charters cover longer days. Private flights into VIS can be met too; send the operator and arrival time.

Weddings, ag business, graduations and Sequoia trips

Weddings. The Convention Center hosts weddings, and the Wyndham Visalia has 22,000 square feet of event space. Pair a sedan or SUV for the two of you with a Sprinter for the bridal party.

World Ag Expo and business travel. The expo runs February 9 to 11, 2027 at the International Agri-Center, 4500 South Laspina Street in Tulare. Sedans and SUVs also cover FAT runs and site visits for Kaweah Health, Tulare County and the Amazon fulfillment center.

Graduations and nights out. College of the Sequoias marks commencement for Thursday, May 27, 2027. Fox Theatre shows and Rawhide games at Valley Strong Ballpark work as an hourly booking.

Sequoia day trips. Sequoia National Park, home of Giant Forest and the General Sherman Tree, is about 51 miles up Highway 198 through Three Rivers. The park advises against vehicles over 22 feet between Hospital Rock and Wolverton Road, so tell us the group size and the quote names a vehicle suited to that climb.

My wife and I worked with Igor and Limo SF VIP for our wedding. They did an absolutely amazing job. They provided both a luxury sprinter van to carry the bridal party and groomsmen to a first look sight at the busy palace of fine arts and then to the venue and provided luxury ~50-person bus for guests to leave venue. All of the drivers were responsive, and kind. At the end of the night the bus driver even spent an extra ~30 minutes driving the late-night party crew to several different bars after some we intended to go were closed. Overall, 6/5 service. Their prices are fair, and the team is wonderful to work with. I'd highly recommend Limo SF VIP to anyone looking for coach, private limo, or large party needs.

Excellent service! As I was boarding my flight on my way to SFO I was able to book and confirm the service last minute, so quickly. Our driver waited for us by baggage claim and helped us out with our numerous bags. The car was also fabulous! Arriving to SF in style!

Visalia limousine and chauffeur service questions

FAT sets no curb for it, so the car parks in a spot the airport permits and the location is in your booking notes before departure. Its ground transportation page sends rideshare riders to Zone B outside the departure doors and taxis to the terminal curb, with nothing for prearranged limousines at 5175 East Clinton Way. Keep your flight number on file and pickup follows the plane’s real landing. At FAT, a 40-minute grace period on waiting begins at the official posted arrival; Visalia is about 45 miles south, roughly 48 minutes.

Fresno, for most trips. VIS, five miles west of downtown, lost its last scheduled service when SeaPort Airlines stopped flying on January 15, 2016, and now serves private planes and cargo. Fresno Yosemite is about 45 miles and 48 minutes up Highway 99, with eight airlines including international routes. Bakersfield's Meadows Field is 70 miles south, near 1 hour 13 minutes. LAX at 188 miles or SFO at 224 still wins sometimes, on fares or a nonstop for a family, and that long leg is priced as one transfer.

Yes. The center is downtown, with 114,000 square feet of meeting space, stadium seating for up to 3,000 and around 200 nearby parking spots plus a 370-space garage across the street, so a sedan or Sprinter can pull up close to the doors. Sixty-plus local restaurants sit within walking distance, which makes a fixed pickup time after dinner easy to set. Tell us the session end time and the hotels involved; drop and return can be priced as separate legs, or the vehicle can stay on an hourly booking between sessions.

Book a Sprinter or SUVs for fixed morning and evening runs. The 2027 expo is February 9 to 11 at the International Agri-Center, 4500 South Laspina Street in Tulare, about 12 miles and 16 minutes from Visalia hotels. The show reports an average of roughly 100,000 visitors from more than 70 countries and over 1,200 exhibitors on 2.6 million square feet. Those daily round trips can go on the quote as set times, or the vehicle can stay with the team by the hour, plus the FAT legs.

The college's 2026-27 academic calendar marks commencement on Thursday, May 27, 2027, the day after spring finals end; the 2026 ceremony was held on Thursday, May 21. The Visalia campus is at 915 South Mooney Boulevard, and enrolled 9,476 students in 2024-25. The calendar doesn't give the time or venue, so check the college's announcement. A 14-passenger Sprinter on an hourly booking can collect relatives, wait through the ceremony and take everyone on to a restaurant.

Yes. Kaweah Health is Visalia's largest employer, 5,390 staff in 2025, and runs 613 beds across its district, including a Level III trauma center. Tulare County government, with 3,437 employees, and the 1,200-person Amazon fulfillment center bring their own share of visitors. A sedan or SUV can cover the 45-mile FAT leg, the hotel and the campus visits as point-to-point rides, or stay by the hour for a full day of appointments. Flying privately into VIS instead? Give us the operator and arrival time.

Mostly the vehicle, the clock and the calendar. Each vehicle class has its own rate, hourly bookings carry the vehicle’s minimum, and Saturdays and prom and wedding season cost most. The 45-mile FAT run is priced as a transfer, while extra stops in Tulare or Exeter and waiting past the free 40 minutes at the airport raise the total. Yes, the tip is built in. Our terms put gratuity at 20 percent, charged against the base fare together with stop time, waiting and holiday surcharges, and your bill shows it apart from the fare.

In most cases, yes. On its passenger-carrier FAQ page, the CPUC says it will ask the California Highway Patrol to inspect any modified limousine and any vehicle with more than 10 seats once the driver is counted. A stretch limousine falls in the first group, and a 14-seat Sprinter or a party bus in the second. The inspection belongs to the operator’s licensing, not to the rider. Partner operators run the Visalia rides we set up, and the CPUC’s online carrier search shows whether a permit is active.

Expect an earlier pickup or a changed time. Tule fog season officially runs November 1 to March 31, visibility in it is usually under 600 feet, and Highway 99 north of Visalia has a record: an 80-plus-car pileup between Kingsburg and Selma in February 2002 and 108 cars plus 18 big rigs between Fowler and Fresno in November 2007. When fog is forecast we ring you ahead and suggest leaving sooner. The chauffeur alone decides whether visibility allows driving, and your quote spells out the rules for weather changes.

Here are the dated events coming up: Pride Visalia at Valley Strong Stadium, October 17, 2026; World Ag Expo, February 9 to 11, 2027; College of the Sequoias commencement, May 27, 2027. Summer weekends bring Sequoia day trips, and the parks’ Dark Sky Festival returns August 27 to 29, 2027. Taste of Downtown is held each October in downtown Visalia; dates are posted by Visit Visalia. Prom and wedding Saturdays are priced highest, so send a request as soon as you know the date and headcount.

It depends on the van's length. Sequoia National Park is about 51 miles from Visalia up Highway 198 through Three Rivers, roughly an hour and a half. The park says vehicles longer than 22 feet are not recommended between Hospital Rock and Wolverton Road, so tell us the group size and the quote names a vehicle suited to that climb. Chains can be required whenever it snows, from late fall into spring, and an hourly charter covers stops at the Giant Forest Museum.

Yes, if the booking is hourly rather than two separate drops. Mooney Grove Park is a valley oak preserve, a shaded backdrop that suits portraits on a hot valley afternoon. For the reception, the Convention Center lists weddings among its events, and the Wyndham Visalia has 22,000 square feet of event space. One option: the couple rides in a sedan or SUV, the wedding party in a 14-passenger Sprinter, and the quote shows the order of ceremony, park and reception with times.
