SFO Car Service and Limo Pickups at San Francisco International Airport

Limo SF VIP runs SFO car service with our own chauffeurs: an executive sedan, a luxury SUV or a Sprinter, timed to your flight, with your chauffeur meeting you inside the terminal. One traveler usually books it as an SFO black car service; a group books a Sprinter as an SFO limousine service. Car service to SFO works the same way, from the city, the Peninsula or Silicon Valley. Send the flight, the address and the head count for a quote, usually in 15 to 30 minutes, or call (888) 888-0195.

Where your chauffeur meets you at SFO

Our chauffeurs meet you inside the terminal and help you with the luggage, then walk you out to the car. SFO sets where the car loads, by terminal:

  • Harvey Milk Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3: the White Zone curb on Level 1 or Level 2. SFO leaves the exact spot to be arranged with the operator, so your chauffeur picks the door that suits your arrival.
  • International Terminal: after customs you walk through the doors marked "San Francisco" into the International Arrivals Meeting Area, which has a signed Meeting Point. That's where your chauffeur finds you. The car loads at the center island Yellow Zone on Level 2, the level SFO labels Arrivals/Baggage Claim.

Nobody can meet you at the gate, because SFO's security rules don't allow it. Cars can't sit at the curb waiting either, and SFO keeps commercial vehicles out of its Cell Phone Waiting Lot.

SFO terminals, airlines and what changed at Terminal 3

Harvey Milk Terminal 1 (B and C gates) serves Alaska and Hawaiian, American, Delta and JetBlue, among others. Terminal 2 (D gates) has Southwest, Air Canada and some United domestic flights. Terminal 3 (E and F gates) is United domestic. The International Terminal splits into A gates (Emirates, British Airways, Qantas and more) and G gates (United international, Lufthansa, ANA).

As of October 2026, the Terminal 3 west rebuild has closed the T3 Departures curb between Doors 6 and 13. Arrivals pickups there run along Doors 4 to 12, and the T3 AirTrain station stays closed until its replacement opens in 2027.

SFO limo service for business, families, events and wine country

Business travel. A sedan from the United gates at Terminal 3 to a meeting in Palo Alto or Mountain View, and the ride back to SFO when the meeting ends. Extra stops are added to the fare.

Families and groups. A Sprinter seats up to 14 with up to 14 bags. SFO loads larger group vehicles away from the limo curb, so your chauffeur meets the group inside and walks everyone out to the van.

Conventions and events. Dreamforce returns to San Francisco on September 21 to 23, 2027. An hourly charter keeps one car with you between hotel, venue and dinner.

Wine country. Napa and Sonoma are each about 57 miles from SFO. Book it as a one-way transfer to your inn, or as an hourly day that starts at the arrivals curb and ends after the last tasting.

My wife and I worked with Igor and Limo SF VIP for our wedding. They did an absolutely amazing job. They provided both a luxury sprinter van to carry the bridal party and groomsmen to a first look sight at the busy palace of fine arts and then to the venue and provided luxury ~50-person bus for guests to leave venue. All of the drivers were responsive, and kind. At the end of the night the bus driver even spent an extra ~30 minutes driving the late-night party crew to several different bars after some we intended to go were closed. Overall, 6/5 service. Their prices are fair, and the team is wonderful to work with. I'd highly recommend Limo SF VIP to anyone looking for coach, private limo, or large party needs.

Excellent service! As I was boarding my flight on my way to SFO I was able to book and confirm the service last minute, so quickly. Our driver waited for us by baggage claim and helped us out with our numerous bags. The car was also fabulous! Arriving to SF in style!

SFO car service questions

Inside the terminal, with your chauffeur ready to help with the bags, and then out to the White Zone curb on Level 1 or Level 2. That White Zone is what SFO publishes for licensed limousines at Harvey Milk Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. The airport doesn’t fix a numbered limo island at those three, so the exact door is left to the operator. Nobody can come to the gate; SFO’s security rules stop that. Give us the flight number, and the pickup is timed to when you actually land.

Yes. The 40 free minutes run from your flight’s official posted arrival time, so a late landing pushes the window back with it. Fog really does matter here: SFO’s parallel runways are only 750 feet apart, and in overcast weather just two of its four runways can be used, which is why overcast days slow arrivals. Beyond those 40 minutes, each further 15 minutes of standing time goes on the bill at that car’s hourly price. Keep the flight number on the booking so the timing follows the real touchdown.

Take the doors marked “San Francisco” into the International Arrivals Meeting Area, where SFO keeps a signed Meeting Point; your chauffeur meets you there. Doors marked “Connecting Flights” are for onward passengers, so skip those. From the lobby, the car loads at the center island Yellow Zone on Level 2, the spot SFO reserves for limousines at that terminal. US citizens may get through faster since June 2026, when biometric Enhanced Passenger Processing started; CBP says it trims their waits by roughly a quarter on average.

It depends on the trip. Taxis run on the meter from the center-island taxi zones; every San Francisco cab leaving SFO adds an exit surcharge, and destinations more than 15 miles past the city or airport limits pay one and a half times the meter. Uber and Lyft fares are shown in their apps, and those cars collect you on Level 5 of the Domestic Garage, or on the Departures level center island at the International Terminal. A booked car is quoted when you book, and you pay by secure link after the quote.

Three things carry most of the price: which vehicle, how far, and if it is held by the hour. One traveler in a sedan to Moscone Center, 13.7 miles out, is a different job from ten people in a Sprinter heading 57 miles north to Sonoma. Each vehicle has its own hourly minimum on charters, and added stops or waiting past the free 40 minutes count too. Gratuity sits on its own line at 20 percent of the fare, stops, waiting and holiday surcharges. Your quote usually lands within 15 to 30 minutes.

A Mercedes Sprinter, which carries up to 14 passengers and up to 14 bags, so twelve travelers with a suitcase each fit in one. Under SFO's rules a limousine seats nine at most, driver included, and larger vans use SFO's separate charter and pre-arranged loading areas, either the courtyards on the Arrivals level or green-and-white striped curbs. At a curbside charter stop, SFO wants everyone standing ready with bags in hand before the van pulls in.

It can be, because the free-flow numbers are short and peak traffic isn't. On an open road, Moscone Center is 13.7 miles and about 15 minutes away, Union Square 14.3 miles and around 17, and Fisherman's Wharf 15.3 miles and close to 21, the last part on city streets. A Caltrans fact sheet describes US-101 on the Peninsula as SFO's main access route, with all lanes generally congested at peak hours. So leave extra slack before a dinner reservation or a hotel check-in deadline.

Work back from the airline's timing rather than the drive alone. This past summer SFO asked travelers to arrive two hours before a domestic flight and three before an international one. Palo Alto is about 20 miles and 24 minutes away on an empty road, so a 7 a.m. domestic flight means leaving well before 4:35; build extra time on top of that. Flying United from Terminal 3? Its departures curb between Doors 6 and 13 is closed as of October 2026.

Yes, put it on the booking along with each child's age and weight and the flight details. It's a request we work to meet rather than a guarantee, so the earlier it's in, the better. Families coming off a long-haul flight into the International Terminal can use the free baggage carts in the arrivals area, which helps if you decide to bring your own seat along with the suitcases. Your chauffeur meets you inside either way and helps carry everything out to the car.

Start with the paperwork SFO itself checks. Any limousine collecting passengers there needs a CPUC charter-party permit, with its TCP number on the vehicle, an SFO operating permit and airport decals, plus a waybill for each pickup, and the driver must be able to issue a receipt on the spot. Then judge the booking side for a team: a quote usually back in 15 to 30 minutes, and payment by secure online link using Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.

Somewhat. As of October 2026, the Terminal 3 west project has Arrivals-level pickups running along Doors 4 to 12, and SFO's own tip is that the far end, Doors 10 to 12, is the least congested. The T3 AirTrain station is shut until its replacement opens in 2027, so the renamed Terminals 2 & 3 station serves both. On the way home, note that United check-in for D and E gate flights now happens at Terminal 2, while F gate flights still check in at Terminal 3.

Yes, and it’s a long but simple run. Napa is about 57 miles from the airport and roughly an hour and 10 minutes without traffic; Sonoma is a similar distance at around an hour and a quarter. You can book it as a one-way transfer to a hotel or inn, or as an hourly charter that picks you up at SFO and stays with you for the rest of the day. For a group of up to 14 with weekend bags, a Sprinter keeps everyone and the luggage in one vehicle.
